Allow ad hoc POST/v1/check-sessions/trigger runs during maintenance windows

We have an octopus step template to hit the synthetic checkly check as part of the deployment process, however, this times out and fails deployments if the check is in a maintenance window. We’d like to maintain our current maintenance windows AND allow team members to continue working seemlessly outside of normal hours if needed without having to disable test automation to do so. right now the script looks for an active maintenance window and gracefully skips the step if it finds one, but i’d like to be able to schedule ad hoc through the api any time of day.

    Hey again,

    We just released an update to maintenance windows that should cover this use case.

    You can now trigger check runs manually from the UI, or by using the trigger endpoint, even while a maintenance window is active.

    One thing to note: these triggered runs can still send alerts if they fail. To prevent that, enable the new “Silence alerts” option on the maintenance window. That way, any alerts from matching checks will then be suppressed during active maintenance windows.

    Thank you for the suggestion!

    We are currently working on improvements to the Maintenance Windows feature. Once released, this will allow manual and triggered check runs during an active maintenance window. Only scheduled runs will remain blocked for the configured checks and groups.

    We will share an update once this is available.
